This month we're exploring storytelling through creative-writing workshops. Children can develop ideas, play with language and build confidence in their writing.

Times tables, one small step at a time
Throughout November, members will receive a weekday WhatsApp idea, tip or game to help their children practise times tables. No live workshop to fit into your diary — just manageable suggestions to try when they suit your family.
Here's what the first week might look like
Design a bold, colourful 2× tables help poster. Keep it nearby whenever you practise.
What did you notice while writing the table? Look for patterns, then try noughts and crosses.
Use our printable 2× tables snakes and ladders to practise through play.
Try a Jenga times-tables game, or use our printable fishing game instead.
Finish with another game, reflect on growing confidence and revisit anything that needs more practice.
There's no need to rush to next week's table. Save the games and tips, and move on when your child is ready.
Different children need different approaches. These ideas are there to give you choices, not another list of things you must complete.
Countdown to Christmas!
We're planning a festive countdown of maths, English and creative activities that can be adapted for children from KS1 to KS4.
Words and stories
Christmas creative writing, word searches and the challenge of finding as many words as possible in “Have a Merry Christmas”.
Maths and making
Times-tables colour-by-numbers, designing a Christmas banner and other festive challenges.
These are provisional ideas; we'll share the final activities nearer the time.
Learning doesn't have to look the same for everyone
Some children love a worksheet. Others learn more confidently through a game, a conversation, something creative or a few minutes of practice together.
Our membership shares different ways to approach learning, with activities that change each month. Take the ideas that work for your child, adapt the ones that need changing, and leave the rest for another day.
