Is there a community or any way to ask questions if you are a member?

Are there any community or support features (e.g., a forum for parents)?

Are there any community or support features (e.g., a forum for parents)?

The original goal behind the Clara James Approach was to offer a more affordable alternative to tutoring. But the issue here was that we could give parents resources but if they didn’t understand something themselves, there would be nowhere to go for support and advice. So, I decided that if we created a Facebook group to compliment the approach where parents could ask questions of other parents, and a monthly zoom call where they could ask me any questions they might have, it would give them the opportunity to find the answers that they needed in order to support their children.

Going back to our own school years, sometimes asking questions in front of others can seem intimidating even though we know that there will be others who don’t know the answers either, so members of the Clara James Approach are free to email me at any time with questions that they may have, and I will get back to them as soon as possible. If it is a question that others have asked, I can talk about it (anonymously) in the weekly email so that others can benefit from the knowledge as well. In that respect, questions are always appreciated as it helps us to help you.

My goal is to offer the very best support possible. If you have any questions, or suggestions, or need anything at all, please do ask: info@clarajamestutoring.co.uk

For the past 20+ years I have been a firm believer that learning should be an enjoyable experience. I appreciate that traditionally education has revolved around worksheets, textbooks, listening to teachers. But a grounding in early years and working with children who had a variety of learning styles from I learned that it is an individual activity that is personal to all of us. We don’t all learn in the same way. Our influences, our experiences, our capabilities all influence how we retain information.
But through it all, I believe that if we can make it enjoyable and engaging, they will want to participate. With participation comes practice which in turn boosts skill and confidence. With an increase in skill and confidence comes a willingness to have a go. This in turn leads to more practice which leads to a positive spiral of success.
The moral, we need to make learning fun, engaging, use a range of techniques.
